Thrive Collective R.H.Y.M.E Rhymes help young minds excel 2022 Winter music and mentoring program in collaboration with The Point CDC and Bronx Arts Elementary.
5th grade scholars in the Bronx learned about DJ Kool Herc, a Jamaican American Hip Hop pioneer by reading the book "When The Beat Was Born" by Laban Carrick Hill. Students then made the connection between lyrics and literature, story telling an songwriting by turning Kool Herc's story based on the book into bars! Scholars wrote an original Hip Hop song and went on field trip to record the song at La Bodega Studio in the Bronx.
Thanks for watching and sharing liberally. Stay tuned! R.H.Y.M.E is coming
