Rap & Percussion Workshop at PS244Q

We recently hosted an exciting Hip Hop and Percussion workshop for students, teachers, and families at PS 244 in Queens. The event focused on introducing participants to the rhythms and sounds of the cajón drum, a staple in many musical traditions. Attendees learned about the history and cultural significance of the cajón, before getting hands-on with the music.

The highlight of the workshop was when the kids designed, played, and even took home their very own cardboard cajón drums made from shoe boxes. It was a creative and fun experience that allowed everyone to explore the rhythm and beat-making process in a unique and memorable way.

Thank you to all who joined us for this rhythm-filled day of learning and creativity!
